The cardiothoracic fellowship will include experience in the chest and cardiac radiology with exposure to thoracic nonvascular interventional procedures. Fellows will undergo a clinical fellowship in all aspects of cardiothoracic imaging and will be encouraged to participate in scientific research projects that may be presented at radiology society meetings. The Thoracic Imaging section has four board-certified faculty attendings who are responsible for chest radiography, thoracic ultrasonography, thoracic CT\/MR imaging, CT angiography (including coronary CTA), and cardiac CT\/MR imaging. The cardiothoracic fellow will also participate in nonvascular thoracic interventional procedures with the faculty of the Abdominal Imaging section. The Thoracic Interventional service is active in all aspects of diagnosis and treatment including radiofrequency ablation. The cardiothoracic fellow will be exposed to PET\/CT and other pertinent cardiothoracic nuclear medicine exams with the Nuclear Medicine section. The department has state-of-the-art equipment including MDCT scanners and 1.5 T and 3.0 T MR scanners. UT Health and University Hospital (UH) have a nationally recognized lung transplant program and a level 1 trauma center. Fellows will also interpret examinations from Audie L Murphy Memorial VA Hospital. Fellows participate in multidisciplinary pulmonary, surgical thoracic oncology, radiology-pathology, and cardiology conferences.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″]
