Heather M. Brandfellner, D.O.

Dr. Brandfellner was born and raised in Long Beach, California. She attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado where she earned her BS in Equine Science in 2004. She completed her medical school training at the University of North Texas Health Sciences Center – Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2009. Dr. Brandfellner then entered into surgical residency at UT Health San Antonio in their research track. She completed two years of research during residency evaluating pain related to trauma and burn injury. During that time, she earned her Masters of Science in Clinical Investigation. Dr. Brandfellner completed her General Surgery Residency at UT Health San Antonio in June 2016 and went on to begin her Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at UT Health San Antonio in August which she anticipates she will complete in July 2017. Dr. Brandfellner is also a Clinical Instructor within the Division of Trauma & Emergency Surgery.
Austin T. Eagleton, M.D.

Dr. Eagleton was born in Ft. Worth, Texas before moving to Azle, Texas. He attended Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas where he earned a BS in Biomedical Science in 2003. He went on to complete a Master’s in Public Health with a focus on Environmental and Occupational Health. During this time he had the opportunity to perform a water quality study while hiking the Appalachian Trail. Following completion of his MPH in 2006, he worked as a risk assessor at URS Austin performing human health environmental impact studies on sites throughout Texas and the Southeast. From there he went on to medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where he completed his MD in 2011. Dr. Eagleton completed his residency at Dell Medical School in Austin, TX (formerly UT Southwestern at Austin) in 2016 and recently began his surgical critical care fellowship at UT Health San Antonio where he also serves as a clinical instructor in the Division of Trauma & Emergency Surgery.
Ashley C. McGinity, M.D.

Dr. McGinity is from Waco, Texas. She attended undergrad at Samford University and graduated with a degree in sports medicine in 2007. She attended medical school at the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio. She completed her general surgery residency at UT Health San Antonio in 2016 and was selected by her peers as one of two administrative chief residents for the year. She has served in leadership roles within the general surgery department and at University Hospital. She has been actively involved in medical school education, graduate medical education committees and quality improvement at University Hospital and the VA. Dr. McGinity is currently completing her surgical critical care fellowship at UT Health San Antonio with plans to continue in a career in academics and Trauma/Surgical Critical Care. She is happily married to her husband Michael who is a neurosurgery resident. She loves cooking, eating, traveling, snow skiing and playing golf.
