John J. Doski, M.D., F.A.C.S.\"\"<\/a><\/h2>\n

Board-Certification: General Surgery, Pediatric Surgery<\/p>\n

Dr. Doski obtained his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine and completed a general surgery residency at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Following completion of his time with the US Air Force, he completed a fellowship in pediatric general and thoracic surgery at the Children\u2019s Medical Center of Dallas under the direction of Dr. Phillip Guzzetta. His clinical interests include pediatric surgical oncology and resident and medical student education. Dr. Doski presently serves as the division chief for Pediatric Surgery in the UTHSCSA Department of Surgery. Dr. Doski is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Pediatric Surgery Association and Children\u2019s Oncology Group.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Katie Wiggins Dohlvik, M.D., F.A.C.S.<\/h2>\n

Board Certifications: American Board of Surgery<\/p>\n

Dr. Wiggins Dohlvik obtained her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in 2011, and completed a General Surgery residency at Texas A&M Medical School in 2017.\u00a0 She next completed a fellowship at Texas A&M Medical School in 2014 and the University of Oklahoma\/OU Children’s Hospital in 2019.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

Ian Mitchell, M.D., F.A.C.S.\"\"<\/h2>\n

Board Certifications: Pediatric Surgery, General Surgery<\/h5>\n

Dr. Mitchell obtained his medical degree from the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 2003, and completed a General Surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2010.  He next completed a fellowship in pediatric general and thoracic surgery at the Cohen Children\u2019s Medical Center in 2012.  His clinical interests include all aspects of pediatric general and thoracic surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Pediatric Surgery Association.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

Barry R. Cofer, M.D., F.A.C.S.\"\"<\/h2>\n

Board-Certification: Pediatric Surgery, General Surgery<\/p>\n

Dr. Cofer obtained his medical degree at the Baylor College of Medicine in 1987 with high honors, and completed a residency in general surgery at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1994, as well as a fellowship in Extracorporeal Life Support at the Cincinnati Children\u2019s Hospital in 1990. He next completed a fellowship in pediatric general and thoracic surgery at the Children\u2019s Hospital of Pittsburgh under the direction of Dr. Marc Rowe. Dr. Cofer served as the Surgeon in Chief at the Children\u2019s Hospital of San Antonio from 2013 to 2017. His clinical interests include pediatric surgical oncology, chest wall anomalies, neonatal congenital anomalies and their reconstruction, and pediatric minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Cofer is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Pediatric Surgery Association and Children\u2019s Oncology Group.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

Joseph Kidd, M.D.\"\"<\/h2>\n

Dr. Kidd received his medical degree from the Baylor College of Medicine and completed his general surgery training at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.  He then completed his pediatric general and thoracic surgery fellowship at the Arkansas Children\u2019s Hospital in 2003 under the direction of Dr. Sam Smith. His clinical interests include all aspects of pediatric general and thoracic surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Pediatric Surgical Association.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

Michael L. Megison, M.D.\"\"<\/h2>\n

Board Certifications: Pediatric Surgery, General Surgery<\/p>\n

Dr. Megison obtained his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2009, and completed a General Surgery residency at the University of Alabama Hospitals in 2016. He next completed a fellowship in pediatric general and thoracic surgery at University of Oklahoma Children\u2019s Hospital in 2018. His clinical interests include all aspects of pediatric general and thoracic surgery, as well as pediatric robotic abdominal and thoracic surgery. He is a member of the American Pediatric Surgery Association.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

Tate R. Nice, M.D., F.A.C.S.\"\"<\/h2>\n

Dr. Nice obtained his medical degree from Texas A&M College of Medicine in 2008, and completed a General Surgery residency at Baylor University Medical Center (Dallas) in 2013. He next completed a fellowship in pediatric general and thoracic surgery at the Children\u2019s Hospital of Alabama\/University of Alabama-Birmingham in 2017. His clinical interests include all aspects of pediatric general and thoracic surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Pediatric Surgery Association.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

Robert P. Thomas, M.D., F.A.C.S.\"\"<\/h2>\n

Dr. Thomas obtained his medical degree and completed a general surgery residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. Dr. Thomas next completed a fellowship in pediatric general and thoracic surgery at the Michigan Children\u2019s Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, under the direction of Dr. Michael Klein. His clinical interests include all aspects of pediatric general and thoracic surgery. Dr. Thomas is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Pediatric Surgery Association.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

Frank M. Robertson, M.D., F.A.C.S.\"\"<\/h2>\n

Dr. Robertson received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He completed his residency in general surgery at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, including one year of additional training in burn surgery at the Institute of Surgical Research. He completed his Critical Care Fellowship at Brooke Army Medical Center in 1992. He next completed his fellowship training in pediatric general and thoracic surgery at the New England Medical Center Boston Floating Hospital in 1995. His clinical interests include all aspects of pediatric general and thoracic surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Pediatric Surgical Association.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Dawn E. Welk, RN, MSN, CPN, CPNP<\/h2>\n

Board-Certification: Certified Nurse Practitioner, Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner<\/h5>\n

Ms. Welk received her B.S.N. from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 2001, and her M.S.N. from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2014. She completed her certification as a Surgical First Assistant in 2020. She has extensive experience as a pediatric operating room nurse as well as a pediatric inpatient surgical floor nurse, and joined SAPSA in 2014. She is a member of the American Pediatric Surgery Nurses Association.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Colleen M. Wells, RN, MSN, FNP<\/h2>\n
