Michael Liss, M.D.

Dr. Michael Liss completed his residency at UC Irvine and then the SUO approved Urologic Oncology Fellowship at the University of California San Diego. Dr. Liss is dedicated to academic Urology and is an Assistant Professor of Urology – Tenure Track – in the Department of Urology at UT Health San Antonio. He currently has active medical licenses in both Texas and California. He is a member of the Cancer Therapy and Research Center and is actively involved in research and care of urologic cancer patients. Additionally, he also has assumed a leadership role with the Urologic Oncology curriculum for the residents with our urology program. Dr. Liss had recently been successful in the competition for a Department of Defense Prostate Cancer Physician Training Grant on the topic of prostate cancer detection utilizing new MRI techniques.

Dr. Liss has a very active urologic oncology practice within our group. He started the urologic robotic surgical program at our South Texas Veterans Hospital largely performing cancer-related surgical procedures.
