Dr. Achint Singh is a model faculty for the Department of Radiology. He regularly is a favorite amongst nearly all residents in the entire department for not only his effectiveness in teaching but his effort to go the extra mile for the benefit for the residents. For example, he has created an online app and internet site for assistance in neuroradiology which is rich in its educational content such as instructional videos and interactive material (such as his myelination map in pediatric brain MRIs- a resource that I will likely utilize in my neuroradiology fellowship). Additionally, Dr. Singh during COVID made an effort to have all MS teams lectures be recorded, which is critical for residents who may be on busy services like IR or working overnight. During his lectures, Dr. Singh also went the extra mile to have an interactive system to allow for responses and polls during lectures.
Dr. Singh not only excels in radiology educational endeavors, but also in other ancillary but often ignored subjects like personal finance, artificial intelligence, and radiological physics. Often times, these lectures are some of the highest attended because of their rarity in discussion when compared to other lectures.
I can personally say that Dr. Singh is a mentor of mine and I am not sure I would have pursued a career in neuroradiology without him at the helm of the neuroradiology section. He has regularly been available to me when I have any sort of academic or professional question and has always been more than honest and cordial with me. He is an excellent radiologist and a genuinely nice person. Definitely one of my colleagues I will keep up with upon my soon graduation from the program and throughout my career.
