Dr. Skarpiak is always willing to stay late to teach medical students. Despite his very busy career and what I can only imagine as a significant responsibility within the department, he always makes residents and students feel important and that their education is the most valuable thing we hold. He consistently hands out unique/ interesting EKGs and CTs to us to walk us through an interesting finding. He always has our back and makes sure our thinking through the case is appropriate. Dr. Skarpiak is a department favorite and we are so lucky to have him!
