Nomination Submission:
I would like to nominate Dr. Robert Sanders for the honor of the LSOM Stars of Education award. While he carries the well-respected title of the Director of Ambulatory Operations for the Department of Pediatrics, I would venture to say that his role as Faculty Attending for the Pediatric Resident’s Acute Care Clinic rivals this. His past experiences, including clinical work in Pediatric EDs and Urgent Cares, along with various leadership positions have set him up so well to be such a strong mentor to our medical student and resident learners. He has a charisma about him that draws the learners in, and makes the learning exciting and all inclusive, supporting those less confident and guiding others to help find their passions. His love of teaching is evident.
In his current position, he harnesses the opportunity he has been given to bridge gaps with our neighboring colleagues, promoting, protecting, and always advocating for the teaching mission we hold so close and the learners we so cherish.
Dr. Sanders is a true Star Educator.
