Haley Nation – New Director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)!
Dear CSA Faculty, Students, Postdoctoral Fellows and Staff,
With great pleasure, I announce that Dr. Haley Nation began her new role as Director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) for our department effective February 1, 2022. You may remember that Dr. Nation was our departmental trainer to avoid microagressions. She also serves on a DEI committee for the American Association of Clinical Anatomists (AACA).
Appointing Dr. Nation to this role demonstrates our commitment to DEI within CSA and beyond. Dr. Nation will be an advocate for DEI by presenting the benefits of diversity to search and admissions committees, help write faculty position descriptions to use language that helps attract a diverse pool, help to identify places to advertise jobs to increase the diversity of the applicant pool, identify speakers who can share best practices for improving DEI, identify activities that will help us all overcome unconscious bias, and related activities. Please feel free to reach out to Dr. Nation with any suggestions, questions, or concerns regarding DEI matters.
