Ms. Desirae Morales & Ms. Maia Smith – Recent Success of Two Students Mentored by CSA Faculty Lily Dong!
Ms. Desirae Morales: She was Dr. Dong’s MSc student and is currently in her first year as a Ph.D. student in the Cell Biology, Genetics, and Molecular Medicine Discipline at UTHSA. We just learned she was selected as one of this year’s Top 3 Abstract Award Winners by the annual conference committee for the Pediatric Endocrine Society. She will deliver an oral presentation to the society on April 6th, 2024, and will be honored during her presentation with an award certification and a monetary prize.
Ms. Maia Smith: She is currently a second-year Anatomy track student in Dr. Dong’s lab. Her abstract, submitted to the annual American Diabetes Association (ADA) conference, has been chosen for an oral presentation. She will present her work to the ADA society on June 23rd, 2024.
