Applying

Application for the program should be made in the second year of the applicant’s house staff training. Applications should be submitted before the end of December, one and a half to two years before matriculation is desired. We participate in the Medical Specialty Matching Program (MSMP). Occasionally, unexpected openings sometimes occur after match so that qualified applicants interested in our program should contact the department even past appropriate deadlines.  The Division of Hematology/Oncology accepts applications on the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) Fellowship Application website. The following documents should be submitted to the ERAS electronic document office:

• Personal statement describing your long term career goals and plans for research
• 3 letters of recommendation. 1 letter must be provided by your Department of Medicine Chair or Residency Program Director.
• Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE)/Dean’s Letter
• Medical School Transcript
• USMLE scores
• Wallet-sized color photo

*UT Health San Antonio only accepts J-1 visas and permanent residents.*

Interview Season for 2023 Appointment Year

ERAS 2024 Season Begins: June 7, 2023
Fellowship applicants may apply to July application cycle programs only: July 5, 2023
Programs begin to download applicant information: July 19, 2023
All information must be submitted: August 11, 2023
Interviews: September 1 – September 29, 2023 (Fridays only)
Match Results: December 1, 2023
Fellowship Training Begins: July 1, 2024
