Apart from that I love traveling and I have lived in Ireland for an extended period of time while finishing up my medical school training. Most interesting and exciting place I have visited is Morocco!Currently undecided between private versus academic based clinical practice. I have prior experience in Malignant Hematology however I am keeping my options open. I am Geriatrics Medicine trained so I hope to bring this aspect my training into my practice of older adults living with cancer.

I moved to United States in 2011 to start PhD Program in Cancer Biology at MD Anderson Cancer Center and later to New York to train in Internal Medicine. Following my training, I worked as a faculty physician at University of Miami with focus mainly to treat patients with hematologic malignancies. I always strive to provide the best care to my patients. Outside medicine, I spend time with my family, try new restaurants, and enjoy outdoor activities. In addition, I am learning and playing violin, and love music. I am looking forward to practicing in an academic setting after my fellowship training. I would like to pursue physician scientist route in Heme-Onc with focus on identifying mechanisms of resistance to conventional and targeted therapies and identifying novel therapeutics.

I am a huge foodie, I love exploring different restaurants and trying new types of food from different cultures and so far San Antonio has not disappointed me at all, everything has been delicious. I look forward to traveling around Texas and getting to know different nearby cities.I am very interested in solid tumors especially GI and GI as these affect a large percent of the Latin American community and I would like to make an impact in this population given my background. I would like to work in a private practice or community setting so that I may still see a variety in terms of pathology but with a focus on GI and GU.
