Personal Statement:
Esther E. Nañez is a Clinical Research Nurse-Senior in the Neurosurgery Dept. at UTHSCSA (UT). She received her B.S.N. from UTHSCSA and her M.S. (Clinical Research Administration) from Walden University. She has worked in Clinical Research for 23 years at UTHSCSA. She has worked in various departments and areas of research to include: Epidemiology (Diabetes and Heart Studies); Pharmacology (Hypertension and Alzheimer’s Studies); Urology (Prostate Cancer and Bladder Cancer Studies); and currently works in Neurosurgery (ICH, Aneurism and Spine Studies). She also served as the first Research Study Monitor in the Office of Regulatory Affairs & Compliance and was later promoted to a Managerial position in that office. Ms. Nañez earned Coordinator of the Year in 2016 in the international NIH research study, MISTIE III. The PI (Dr. Caron) and she earned the Dan Hanley World Cup for being the top site in 2016. She has worked all aspects of clinical research from beginning to the study closing.
