Graham Hamilton, DPM Joins the Division of Podiatry as Residency Director

Hamilton with ResidenceDr. Graham Hamilton has been named Program Director of the Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency at UTHSCSA. Dr. Hamilton completed residency at the Kaiser Foundation in Santa Clara, California in the 1990s. He worked at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco as faculty member of the residency program for almost 20 years where he also served in the roles of research director and assistant program director. He was an adjunct clinical professor of the California School of Podiatric Medicine, teaching foot and ankle surgery. Most recently, he was an assistant professor of podiatric medicine and surgery at the College of Podiatric Medicine at UT Rio Grande Valley.

He is certified by the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) in Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS) and has served on multiple committees within the organization, including the surgical skills committee and the Annual Scientific Conference (ASC) planning committee.

Dr. Hamilton is currently a trauma faculty member of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesesfragen North America (AONA) where he co-chairs the AONA course for podiatrists.

He has served as Section Editor for the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery and has published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and instructional chapters in multiple surgical textbooks.

Born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa Dr. Hamilton is an avid rugby and soccer fan. His pride and joy are his wife Melissa, and their two children Sarah and Emily who enjoy travel, swimming, and the amazing quality of life in the beautiful state of Texas.
