How to Apply

The application cycle for the Deaf Education and Hearing Science Program begins annually on August 1st with a deadline of March 5th. Individuals who will have a baccalaureate degree in education or communication disorders with at least a 3.0 GPA are welcome to apply.

The application consists of an online form on GoApplyTexas.org, a statement of purpose (1-2 pages, double-spaced) describing why you want to be part of the program and what you will offer to it, an updated resume, three professional letters of recommendation on official letterhead (specifically in reference to the DEHS Program and from an academic/ Deaf Education source), and all official academic transcripts. Application materials should be mailed or emailed prior to the application deadline to:

Once all application materials are received, you will be contacted to schedule an interview. Questions about the application or interview process may be submitted to Dr. Blane Trautwein, the Program Director.
