DEHS Graduation
Congratulations to the Deaf Education & Hearing Science Program and Deaf Education & Educational Psychology graduates! We are excited to have the opportunity to celebrate our 2024 graduates who have worked so hard in their studies. Their achievement and dedication to deaf education will make a difference in the lives of so many children who are deaf/hard of hearing and their families.
The graduation dinner will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024 at The Historic Menger Hotel located at 204 Alamo Plaza, San Antonio, TX 78205. The hotel is located close to the Alamo in downtown San Antonio.
There will be a cash bar available beginning at 6:00 PM. Dinner will consist of grilled chicken fajitas served with rice, refried beans, and flour tortillas and your choice of iced tea, coffee, or water, with chocolate mousse for dessert. A child’s meal or vegetarian pasta option is available upon request. Please let us know in your RSVP if anyone in your party has any food sensitivities we should be aware of.
The cost of dinner will be covered by The DEHS Program for all the 2024 DEHS and UTSA DEEP graduates, faculty & their spouses, and DEHS Advisory Council members & their spouses. Other guests are welcome, and will be asked to submit payment of $30 per adult and $15 per child. Payments by check or money order should be made out to UTHSCSA DEHS, or payment may be made online by visiting https://commerce.cashnet.com/uthscsasf , select the Deaf Education & Hearing Science Program option. Please be aware that there is a small service fee when paying online.
Please RSVP by Monday, April 29, 2024. RSVPs should be emailed to Dr. Trautwein and include the number of guests, their names & choice of dinner option. Please include the planned payment method for any dinner guests. If there are any questions, please reach out to Dr. Trautwein.
The Hooding Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 11th at 10:00 am. This formal ceremony will be held in the Greehey Children’s Cancer Research Institute Auditorium located at 8403 Floyd Curl Dr., San Antonio, TX 78229. Dress is business attire, and graduates & faculty should wear their graduation regalia. Guests of graduating students are welcome, the more the merrier!
Due to planned construction on the Greehey campus, please plan to park in the lot behind the GCCRI building, enter on the first floor, and follow the signs to the auditorium on the second floor.
We highly encourage all DEHS students to attend both of these events if possible. We are delighted to have the opportunity to celebrate our amazing graduates, and we look forward to a wonderful weekend!
