About the Speaker(s)

Dr. Pitts' research interests fall in the general categories of Behavioral Pharmacology and Behavior Analysis. Behavioral Pharmacology is the experimental study of the effects of drugs on learning and behavior. His lab uses the methods and theories of Behavior Analysis to characterize and understand the behavioral effects of drugs. Recently, their work has been focused on examining effects of drugs on laboratory animal models of choice and decision making. In his lab, they study effects of drugs such as methylphenidate (Ritalin®) and amphetamine (Adderall®) on "impulsive" and "risky" behavior.
