The Department of Pharmacology hosts a number of annual retreats and symposiums to offer our students, trainees, and research faculty a chance to network and present their current research. Please check back frequently for updates.

CBN Brain Bowl
The Brain Bowl is a quiz show which tests the knowledge of undergraduate neuroscience students. Brain Bowl questions range from relatively easy to very difficult, covering fields of neuroscience research including: neurophysiology, neuroanatomy, neurochemistry, drugs and the brain, and the brain and behavior.

CBN Retreat
In May, the Center for Biomedical Neuroscience (CBN) sponsors an annual Spring Research Retreat, a full-day scientific meeting on campus. Everyone in research Neuroscience community are invited to attend and present, including faculty, post-docs, residents, laboratory staff and graduate students.

Blum Lectureship
To remember Mariann Blum’s influence on young women in neuroscience, and her impact on neurodegeneration research, the CBN established a Memorial Lectureship in her honor, featuring prominent neuroscientists with strong roles in mentoring female trainees.

Graduate Symposium
Each fall, graduate students in the Department of Pharmacology organize a symposium, which includes two poster sessions, several slide presentations, lunch, and a keynote address.

Briggs Lectureship
Dr. Arthur H. Briggs served as Chair of the Department of Pharmacology at UT Health San Antonio from 1968 –1993 and an annual lectureship has been held in his honor.
