Cystic Fibrosis

UT Health San Antonio is the only medical center in South Texas accredited by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The UT Health San Antonio Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Program was founded by Holly Keyt, MD, FCCP in 2015 and received Cystic Fibrosis Foundation accreditation in 2017.

The program is led by Medical Director Meilinh Thi, DO and provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for people with CF. The care team includes respiratory therapy, nutrition services, social work, mental health, endocrinology, and gastroenterology, ensuring that patients have access to specialized support across the spectrum of CF-related needs.

The UT Health San Antonio CF Program is also an accredited Therapeutics Development Network site, providing patients with opportunities to participate in clinical trials evaluating novel therapies and approaches to CF care. Fellows routinely participate in the inpatient management of patients with CF and gain experience caring for patients in the outpatient CF clinic.

In partnership with University Health, the CF clinic is located at University Hospital, providing an integrated setting for specialized CF care, education, research, and training.
