Angela Atkinson

I was born in Canada to Vietnamese immigrant parents, but Texas has been my home since I was 7. I went to medical school at UT Health San Antonio where I was drawn to the fast-paced and technical fields of critical care and surgery. I am taking two years for research and to pursue my Master of Science in Clinical Investigation (MSCI). My passion for research lies in surgical education, where I am exploring both qualitative and quantitative studies under the mentorship of multiple faculty members at UT Health San Antonio. I have also had the chance for multi-institutional collaboration through participation in the Surgical Education Research Fellowship (SERF) and the Collaboration of Surgical Education Fellows (CoSEF). Beyond my professional aspirations, I enjoy an eclectic array of hobbies including escape rooms, board games, playing piano, scuba diving, and chasing a lifelong dream to swim with sea otters.
