Mark Holliday

Dr. Mark Holliday was born in Van Vleck, TX.  After graduating high school he enlisted into the U.S. Navy to serve five years aboard nuclear powered submarines. Honorably discharged from the military he continued his education at Texas State University, graduating with a B.S. in Biology & minor in Biochemistry.  Subsequently earned his M.D. from UT Health Long School of Medicine before joining the UTHSCSA General Surgery Residency Program.  Interest include: Trauma/Critical Care,  Robotic & Minimally Invasive Surgery, and Emergency General Surgery.

– George H. Meyer award for Microbiology Research

– Awarded 2nd Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal – commending professional achievement for team commitment, high standards, and technical expertise used to train and mentor sailors that helped to posture the submarine for years of future operational success.

– Awarded 1st Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal – commending professional achievement for managerial ability, personal initiative, and outstanding efforts resulting in the early completion of the 300,000 man-day CNO ship modernization ahead of schedule.

– Received Admiral’s letter commending hard work and dedication that led to the completion of two missions vital to national security while serving aboard the USS GREENEVILLE – SSN 772.
