Ronit Patnaik

Ronit Patnaik

I obtained my bachelor’s in biomedical engineering at Purdue University. Next, I attended Indiana University School of Medicine, where I served as class President throughout. I also volunteered at and served as chairman of the local outreach clinic during my final year. During my clinical rotations, I decided to pursue general surgery & developed an interest in education research. During my research time, I completed a Surgical Education Research Fellowship with the Association of Surgical Education. I’ve also developed a clinical interest in transplant surgery due to our robust exposure to the field and mentorship from our faculty. Finally, I’m particularly proud of the work done by our residency wellness committee. I’m married to Dr. Rohini Giles, a planetary physicist. During our spare time, we enjoy cheering on the Boilermakers, the England football team, the Indian cricket team, and any team with a good under-dog story.
