Dr Ferrell is an outstanding educator for medical students, residents, and patients alike. Shadowing Dr. Ferrell in his clinic, I’ve witnessed firsthand his exceptional bedside manner and dedication to his patients. He takes the time to clearly explain complex disease processes and treatment options in clear, accessible language, ensuring that his patients fully understand their conditions and care plans.
From my first year of medical school, Dr. Ferrell welcomed me into his clinic and OR, dedicating countless hours to teaching me the pathophysiology of relevant disease processes, orienting me to head and neck anatomy in surgery, and explaining his clinical reasoning for patient plans. Outside of his clinical duties, Dr. Ferrell is dedicated to mentoring students and working on research projects guided by patient experiences with the goal of bettering the screening, treatment and outcomes of head and neck cancer patients. Overall, Dr. Ferrell has shown deep dedication to both medical education and patient care.
