It is a pleasure to nominate Dr. Cris Fernandez Falcon for the LSOM Star Educator Award. Dr. Fernandez Falcon leads our inpatient service. He has improved the process of care for our inpatients, which ensures that our residents and students get an excellent experience learning up-to-date inpatient care. His encouraging demeanor brings out the best in learners. His rounds ensure that the residents and students make excellent care plans for all patients, which ensure great learning. He is currently leading a process to improve inpatient Geriatrics care for our patients in alignment with principles from the Family Medicine Geriatric Fellowship training. He has shown great mentorship in helping a resident rewrite our Advocacy curriculum for the residency to allow our residents to improve performance compared to the ACGME Milestone for Advocacy. He is a great mentor to his advisees He has helped craft individual learning plans for several residents to help them be successful. He has my strongest personal and professional recommendation for this award.
