Dr. Shiu is an excellent Mohs surgeon who has directly contributed not only to the great care of her patients but also in the instruction of our Dermatology residents and learners in training. She has helped to create a surgical curriculum and case-based lecture series which has improved our residents’ patient care as well as improved their board preparation and examination scores. Her one-on-one surgical instruction to our residents is exceptional. On our recent resident survey, residents wrote “we learn so much on this rotation. Our surgical skills are always significantly improved following this rotation” and “the emphasis is entirely on learning and improving our surgical skills which we love-we really enjoy this rotation!” Residents truly enjoy being mentored by her. I believe you can see why I immediately thought of Dr. Shiu as she is so deserving of this award and recognition.
