2022 Fall STAR Educator Recipient: Danielle Fritze, MD
Danielle Fritze, MD
Assistant Professor
Department of Surgery, Division of Organ Transplantation
Nomination Submission:
Dr. Fritze is a compassionate physician and patient advocate. As a transplant surgeon, she goes above and beyond to provide meticulous care for our patients. Among the residents, she is universally appreciated as a very enthusiastic and kind educator. She goes out of her way to teach during rounds, in the operating room and during didactics. As our assistant program director, she has been a very active advocate for surgery residents. During my time working with her, she has become a research and clinical mentor who I look up to. With her support, we’ve developed multiple simulation curriculums using inanimate and cadaveric models to teach complicated surgical skills. Her educational methods and advocacy have given us a unique opportunity not available to most surgical residents. She is a top-notch educator worthy of recognition.
