    • Analysis of behavioral response following perineural therapies
    • Evaluation of neurolytic effects of perineural therapies
    • Peripherally mediated opioid analgesia
    • Regulation of inflammation-associated proteins following nerve injury
    • Organ preservation systems
    • Novel uses for ultrasound-guided technologies for drug delivery

Our department encourages students and resident physicians to rotate through our laboratories. Anesthesiology researchers also mentor participants in the Medical Student Summer Research Program for both basic science and clinical research. Research Volunteer Program

Work Location: University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio and
University Hospital San Antonio, Texas

Dates: Beginning July 7, 2025, end date varies based on assignments

Research Volunteers will assist the Department of Anesthesiology, Division of
Research with various clinical and perioperative research endeavors, including
data collection, mining, auditing, entry, and analysis. Project assignments will
vary at a level commensurate with the experience and qualifications of the
volunteer.
