Research

My primary research interests are aimed at understanding the physiology of cell junctions; with a major interest in the role of inflammatory signaling processes that impact the tight junctions. Additionally, we are interested in proteomic analysis that involves identifying proteins, protein interactions and protein-modifications that are involved in maintaining tight junctions. Finally, in a collaborative project we aim to understand the effects of mechanical strain and hyperoxia on lung cell junctions.
