EMS and Pre-Hospital Presentations and Awards

The Department of Emergency Medicine’s EMS and Pre-Hospital Medicine Section had a busy January with its research and scholarly activity.

A poster titled “Characteristics of Pre-Hospital Pediatric Cardiac Arrests” was presented at the NAEMSP 2020 Annual Meeting held in San Diego, California.  Authors on the poster are our EMS Fellow Adam C. Benzing, MD, MPH; David Wampler, PHD, LP; Joi Shumaker, RN, LP; Associate Professor/Clinical and our Department’s EMS and Pre-Hospital Section Director Craig Cooley, MD, LP; Michael Stringfellow, EMT-B; Assistant Professor/Clinical C.J. Winckler, MD, LP; and Assistant Professor/Clinical David Miramontes, MD.

On January 13, 2020, NAEMSP announced that it awarded both NAEMSP/AMR-FRE EMS Fellows Research Grants Awards to our EMS Fellows.  Each fellow will receive $5,000 to conduct research on their respective topics of study.
