Dr. Patrick Ng, Research Collaborators receive Medical Technology Enterprise Consortium (MTEC) Funding Award

Congratulations to Dr. Patrick Ng and his research collaborators for their Medical Technology Enterprise Consortium (MTEC) funding award entitled:

Surgical site infusion of antibiotics via a novel bioabsorbable microcatheter to inhibit bacterial colonization and infection in a combat relevant, complex wound model.

This project is a collaborative, large animal study in with UT Health Orthopaedics, UT Health Emergency Medicine, Ethicon/Johnson and Johnson, and The Metis Foundation/Brooke Army Medical Center projected to be supported with $3.6 million in federal funds over a 36 month performance period.

This is the Department of Emergency Medicine’s 4th large grant (total tally $7.1M) in the past 3 months!!
