Honoring the department’s Medical Coders on Texas Medical Coders’ Day 2025

Texas Medical Coders Day is observed every year on October 12th to honor medical coders  in Texas. This day recognizes the essential work of medical coders who translate patient medical information into universal codes, which is critical for accurate records, billing, and the healthcare revenue cycle.

What coders do:
* Analyze and classify medical data, converting diagnoses, treatments, and procedures into alphanumeric codes.
* Ensure the accuracy of medical records and compliance with healthcare laws.
* Support the revenue cycle by ensuring providers are paid for their services and patients are billed correctly.
