Why Emergency Medicine?

I first encountered Emergency Medicine as an undergraduate while working as a medical scribe and EMT and loved the diversity of the patient population and the opportunity to “think on my feet”. Throughout medical school, I kept an open mind and thoroughly loved all of my rotations, however liked that Emergency Medicine had properties and the ability to see and help patient’s with ties to all other specialties.

Why did you choose UT Health?

The interview here blew me away – everyone that I met on that day were genuine, kind and had the vibe that they wanted me and any colleagues to succeed. Being the primary academic medical center for all of South Texas, the catchment area is large allowing for a diverse bed of pathology providing diverse pathology to treat and learn from. I highly recommend everybody consider UTHSCSA when applying to residency.
