Why Emergency Medicine?

The people. Folks that work in EM are the kind of people I want to be around when things get chaotic and when I want to unwind. It’s great that we treat anyone and anything that comes through the door regardless of background, income, or situation. There’s also great fun and satisfaction that comes with the problem solving aspect of the undifferentiated patient.

Why did you choose UT Health?

I just had great conversations during my interview and really felt like I could see myself here. There are excellent opportunities in San Antonio for a lot of my interests—wilderness medicine, teaching, EMS, research, and more. I am ready for a new adventure… and I also like tacos and wearing flip flops year round.
