Personal Statement:

Dr. Imsais is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana where he completed all of his education and training prior to moving to Texas. He attended Tulane University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Cell and Molecular Biology. Afterwards he attended LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. Following medical school, he remained at LSU in New Orleans and completed a dual residency program in Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine at the LSUHSC/Charity Hospital program. Double boarded in Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine, Dr. Imsais joined the faculty of Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas directly after residency where he remained as faculty for almost 10 years. While in Houston he maintained practices in both Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine, in both teaching and non-teaching settings. His practice scope spanned all sectors including county, federal, and private institutions. In 2017 he was very excited to join the Department of Emergency Medicine at UTHSCSA with a cross appointment in the Department of Medicine. He is the medical director of the Emergency Department Observation Unit.
