Texas Public Radio Appearance
Our Chair, Dr. Carlos Roberto Jaén and Dr. Carolina Gonzalez-Schlenker had the opportunity to share their research findings with Texas Public Radio’s The Source. Both are involved in a recent study published in the Annals of Family Medicine which has received much attention. The study showed that 32% of Type 2 diabetics who built trust with community health workers were able to achieve long-term self-care. Our promotores (community health workers) are just one of the many resources our residency program utilizes to provide excellent patient care.
