Overview:

Building Research Teams to Boost Scientific Solutions

Scientific teams are increasingly important, as investigators from multiple disciplines and backgrounds work together to address complex problems. This presentation introduces the foundation of the Science of Team Science (SciTS) and describes an evidence-based training program that fosters high performance among investigative teams composed of clinicians, scientists, and other stakeholders.

After this presentation, attendees will be able to:

  • Describe the advantages of high-performing, multidisciplinary investigative teams.
  • Examine the components of the evidence-based program, Team Methods to Advance Processes and Performance in Science (TeamMAPPS).
  • Identify how the TeamMAPPS online program can be accessed and integrated into clinical investigation teams.
