Overview:

During “Continuous Glucose Monitors: The Basics”, we will discuss the 2 common continuous glucose monitors (CGMs), Freestyle Libre and Dexcom. We will cover who is the ideal patient for CGM accounting for patient factors, pros and cons of each system, and insurance restrictions. Lastly, we will walk through and interpret a couple of CGM cases and discuss what changes we would potentially make to the patient’s diabetes medications.

Objectives:

  • Describe the ideal patient for continuous glucose monitor (CGM) and the best CGM based on patient factors.
