Firearm Injury Prevention

Overview:

Firearm injury is a leading cause of death and injury in the US and kills more children annually than any other cause. We can each help lessen the risk of injury by having well informed conversations with patients. There are methods and techniques to optimize these conversations and we will discuss resources that help.

After this presentation, attendees will be able to:

1. Describe the impact of firearm injury in the US
2. Identify methods to identify high risk patients with regard to firearm injury
2. Identify resources with information to optimize conversations with patients regarding firearm injury
