Non-pharmacological Interventions for Chronic Pain

Over-reliance on pharmacological approaches to manage chronic pain has contributed to the opioid crisis. There is growing recognition in allopathic medicine of the importance of directing patients towards non-pharmacological approaches to manage chronic pain. This presentation provides evidence-based information about brief non-pharmacological interventions physicians can provide to patients who are experiencing chronic pain.

 

After this presentation, attendees will be able to:

1.     Explore the impact of chronic pain

2.     Discuss the need for non-pharmacological pain treatment

3.     Present evidence-based information on non-pharmacological interventions

4.     Identify effective brief interventions to deliver during medical appointments
