Overview:

Partnering with Patients Experiencing Homelessness

Homelessness is a common issue with significant implications on health. This presentation will introduce medical considerations when caring for people experiencing homelessness, discuss the tailored homeless healthcare model of healthcare delivery, and review strategies to promote meaningful engagement with the healthcare system. The presentation will conclude with a review of two common clinical scenarios.

 

After this presentation, attendees will be able to:

1.)    Describe the relationship between health and homelessness,

2.)    Describe clinical considerations for patients experiencing homelessness,

3.)    Identify resources to support the care of patients experiencing homelessness.
