Congratulations to Ileana Pedraza for placing third at The Texas American Society for Microbiology Branch Spring Meeting

“Pedraza works in the lab of Dr. T.R. Kannan whose lab studies Mycoplasma pathogenesis. Pedraza’s work focuses on a new virulence determinant of Mycoplasma pneumoniae known as the CARDS toxin. At the Texas ASM Spring Meeting, she presented her current work involving the characterization of neutralizing monoclonal antibodies against CARDS toxin. This work helps to provide the foundation for therapeutic and vaccine development to combat Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection.”
