Raphael Reyes receives Keystone T4 Scholarship

Congratulations to MIM Ph.D. Candidate, Raphael Reyes!

Raphael is a 4th-year student in the MIM disciple and a member of Dr. Evelien Bunnik’s laboratory, where he researches natural immunity to severe malaria by studying the b cell and antibody responses to Plasmodium falciparum. ​

Raphael was recently awarded a Keystone T4 travel award. This competitive award funds a portion of travel and lodging to the Keystone Symposium, B Cell-T Cell Collaboration: regulation and Dysregulation. This year’s Keystone conference will be hosted at Herrenhausen Palace in Hannover, Germany, from April 3rd to April 6th.

In addition to the travel award, he was also chosen to present his abstract entitled, “Defining broad and durable B cell immunity to Plasmodium falciparum variant surface antigens” as a poster during the symposium.

Raphael was selected out of numerous competitive submissions and received this recognition based on his outstanding scholarly effort. He is a valued member of The Department of Microbiology, Immunology & Molecular Genetics at UT Health San Antonio and a great researcher. We are proud of his outstanding achievement and send our heartfelt congratulations!
