Priya Narayanan

GSBS Spring 2025 Travel Award Recipient

Priya was awarded $1,500 to support her attendance and presentation at The American Assocation for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (AADOCR/CADR) Annual Meeting in New York.

Priya is researching the role of Transient Receptor Potential Melastatin 2 (TRPM2) in Radiation-Induced Oral Mucositis (RIOM) while balancing her role as a parent and MS graduate student. She is also an intern Clinical Research Coordinator at the Institute for Extracorporeal Life Support, working under physician supervision in clinical research trials.

Over the past year and a half, she has presented four posters and actively contributed to the GSBS Wellbeing Council at UT Health San Antonio, including volunteering for GSBS WellFest 2024. Priya remains engaged in professional development, volunteering at The Health Cell – State of the Industry 2024 event and the Team Science Workshop led by Dr. Tim Raabe.

The AADOCR/CADR Annual meeting is a premier event for dental, oral, and craniofacial researchers to connect and collaborate their scientific knowledge and cutting-edge research to address critical health concerns. Given the magnitude of professionals and scientists coming from across the globe, Priya is excited to participate in this year’s meeting, eager to share her work that will help advance her research career, and exchange ideas with leading experts from dental, oral, and craniofacial health fields.
