Congratulations to 2025 SMDP Scholars
Congratulations to the 2025 Scientist Mentoring & Diversity Program (SMDP) Scholars. SMDP is a one year career mentoring program that pairs students and early career researchers with industry mentors who work at companies in the medical technology, biotechnology, and consumer healthcare industries.
The following GSBS students were selected as SMDP Scholars: Shahad Abdulsahib, Esteban Castro, Francine Nihozeko-Haswell and Ishana Syed.
In addition to having an industry mentor, SMDP scholars attended a five-day training session to learn about careers in industry and receive career development coaching at the BioInternational Conference in Boston. During the conference, the SMDP Scholars enjoyed meeting with leaders across the biotechnology industry, exploring cutting-edge innovations, and participating in workshops designed to support early-career scientists committed to improving health outcomes.
