Application Process – Orthopaedics

Applications are only accepted through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS). The following is required with the ERAS application:

  • A complete and official medical school transcript
  • The Dean’s letter (MSPE)
  • Three letters of recommendation. They do not all need to be from orthopaedic surgeons this year.
  • United States Medical Licensure Examination (USMLE) transcript (parts I and II)
  • Personal statement. Please include why you are specifically interested in our program.
  • Photo

Interviews will be held in December and January. Application information is reviewed by our residency application committee and invitations are issued in November via email.

We encourage applications from individuals who have completed their education at other centers. Selection is based on academic performance, recommendations, interviews, and past life experiences.

Two of the primary characteristics I was looking for in a residency program was resident culture and operative volume. I wanted to find a place where I got lots of opportunities to learn and also enjoyed the people I worked with. I was very blessed to get the opportunity to work here because I believe those are the two strongest qualities of our program. I thoroughly enjoy the camaraderie I have developed with my co-residents and I am very grateful for the prolific case volume we enjoy.
