Cytology Laboratory

Cytology (also known as Cytopathology) involves examining cells on a microscopic level from bodily tissues or fluids to determine a diagnosis. Our Cytology Laboratory offers the Thin Prep Pap Test. Ancillary tests such as HPV and Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae, when ordered,  can be performed on an aliquot from the Thin Prep Pap specimen vial; this testing is performed in our Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory.
