Our Rehabilitation clinical services continue to grow! We are excited to announce that we will have our first outpatient clinics at the MARC starting in the Summer of 2020 and will expand to Mays Cancer Center by the Fall of 2020! Our team treated its first pediatric patient in our newly developed Pediatric Inpatient Unit at University Hospital this year and has also collaborated with other disciplines to start our Pediatric Rehab outpatient clinic. We have expanded our Amputee Clinic to accommodate 4 times as many patients and added another Certified Prosthetist Orthotist to our team to better serve our amputee community. Our Certified Pedorthist is now available at our TDI and Main Campus locations to better manage the Diabetic shoe needs of our patients from San Antonio and South Texas.

To ensure our patients receive integrated care across our sites of service, we have been working closely with University Hospital to help fully implement EPIC Systems electronic medical recordkeeping (EMR) in the Summer of 2020. This transition should provide patients with better access to their medical information and health care providers.

During the COVID Pandemic of 2020, our providers have adapted their clinical services to limit the disruption to our patients’ care. We have transitioned many of our clinics to tele-visits, treating patients via video conferencing and telephone calls. As we transition our clinics back to the clinic setting, we are committed to protecting our patients’ safety by ensuring masking, appropriate social distancing, and highly effective sanitation of all areas. We look forward to seeing our patients again soon!
