Rehabilitation Medicine is a medical specialty that involves the evaluation and treatment of patients whose functional abilities have been impaired by trauma or disease processes. The goal of rehabilitation is to restore a patient’s functional independence throughout their inpatient and outpatient recovery.

The Department of Rehabilitation is fortunate to have an experienced and talented faculty who possess expertise in spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, pain management, sports medicine, orthotics and prosthetics, electrodiagnostic medicine, pediatric rehabilitation, and general rehabilitation. The faculty teach and practice in a multidisciplinary approach involving nurses, therapists, technicians and family members. This coordinates goals with the patient and their families to maximize their functional independence.
