Beyond his own research, he has led remarkable efforts to facilitate clinical trials here at UT Health. Dr. Liss is UT Health San Antonio’s principal investigator for SWOG trials. SWOG is an international network of researchers that design and conduct cancer clinical trials, and through Dr. Liss’ leadership our cancer center is at the very top for SWOG trials. He’s also the medical director for clinical research at University Hospital, was selected as the clinical investigator of the year at the Mays Cancer Center, and has enrolled hundreds of patients in clinical research studies. Finally, he was honored to receive the NCI Cancer Clinical Investigator Team Leadership Award.
