Endoscopic vein harvest

Endoscopic vein harvest is a technique to remove a vein from your leg to use in heart bypass surgery. Rather than a large incision on your leg, your surgeon will make two or three small incisions and use a camera to remove the vein. Although this technique is more involved, it results in less pain after surgery. All of the heart surgeons at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio use endoscopic vein harvest during heart bypass surgery.
