TEVAR

Thoracic EndoVascular Aortic Repair (TEVAR) is a method of repairing the aorta using small incisions in the groin. This type of surgery is usually used for aortic aneurysms or aortic dissections. Rather than replacing the aorta with an open operation, TEVAR places a large stent into the aorta to exclude the disease portion.

The benefit of TEVAR is that it is a less invasive operation that allows patients to recover quicker. Not all people are candidates for this type of surgery, and your doctor will perform a CT scan or MRI to determine if TEVAR is appropriate.
